Saturday, Stuart turned 18. What a fantastic day of fun we had. Our dear friend Bain let us come out to his land in Fredericksburg to shoot for a few hours. We went pretty early before it got so incredibly hot. We managed to be there for nearly 3 hours. We rang in Stu's 18th year in good. While shooting, the policy showed up. Apparently some folks down or up creek from us heard all the gun fire and called the police. The policy were very nice and just came out to make sure we were being safe. And we were, of course. But once they were there we had to tell them it was Stu's 18th birthday we were celebrating. So we took a picture with the nice police man. Great memories and stories for a life time to come, right?
We also had a chance to celebrate Bain's birthday, which is in one more day. It was a super fun time and I enjoy so much watching those boys play. And, it is even more special that we get to do this some with Bain.
Following the shooting we drove over to Boerne to Laura and Lee's for dinner. Dad and Mattie were there too. Lee and Laura prepared a feast of Crab Legs (Stuart's favorite) and he must have eaten 5 lbs. OMG it was a lot. I think he was happy.
What a joy for me to see him so happy. Sunday we had Mr. D's family over to the house for another birthday celebration. Mr. D grilled chicken, sausage and dogs and we had another feast. But... the best thing of all was the grahamcracker cake that Mr. D made for his baby boy. It is a sort of tradition for the Leyendecker Family.
This past weekend is definitely one for my most favorites book.
